Lisa Benavides-Nelson – At my urging, my students used the Audio Shakespeare Pronunciation App when I was directing “Othello” and “King Lear” at NYU. Moreover they found it extremely helpful. The app not only supplies the pronunciation of each word (in a thankfully human and applicable way), but also gives alternate pronunciations when the stress changes because of how the word scans in a particular line. Additionally, the respelling system is clear and easy to follow. This is an invaluable tool for anyone working on a production of Shakespeare.
